FBI Investigates Possible Ohio Serial Killer 1:57
Police believe a man killed last week by a West Virginia
sex worker could be linked to the disappearances or
deaths of four prostitutes in the Las Vegas area a
decade ago — and maybe a half-dozen more women in
Chillicothe, Ohio. Charleston, West Virginia, police
said the man, identified as Neal Falls, 45, most
recently of Springfield, Oregon, was killed July 18 in
the apartment of an escort he'd met on Backpage, an
online personals portal often used to arrange sexual
liaisons.
The woman, whose identity hasn't been released, told
investigators Falls drew a gun and tried to strangle
her. She said she grabbed Falls' gun when he set it down
to overpower her and shot him.
Police said they found what they described as a "kill
kit" in the trunk of Falls' car, including handcuffs,
knives, axes, a sledgehammer, a bulletproof vest,
another gun, shovels and bleach and other cleaning
supplies. Lt. Steve Cooper, chief of
detectives for the Charleston police, told NBC station
WSAZ of Charleston that authorities issued a national
alert because "based on the items this man had in his
possession, it's hard to imagine this was only going to
be a one-time event for him."

Neal Falls was shot and killed July 18 by a woman
Charleston, West Virginia, police described as a sex
worker whom he'd attacked. Charleston, West Virginia,
Police Department
Authorities said Falls lived in Henderson, Nevada, near
Las Vegas, about a decade ago, during the same period
that three local women whom police described as
prostitutes were killed and found dismembered and one
other disappeared. Police in the Las Vegas area,
including Henderson, said they are coordinating with
Charleston police to find a connection.

The four dead or missing Nevada
women were identified as, from top left, Jodi Marie
Brewer, Lindsay Marie Harris, Misty Marie Saens and
Jessica Edith Foster. San Bernardino County, California,
Sheriff's Office; U.S. National Missing and Unidentified
Persons System; Foster family
The Nevada women police Falls may be linked to are:
Jodi Marie Brewer, 19, who
disappeared from Las Vegas in August 2003. Her torso,
wrapped in plastic, was found later the month near
Interstate 15 in San Bernardino County, California,
south of the Nevada border.
Lindsay Marie Harris, who was
21 when she disappeared from Henderson in May 2005. Her
legs were found near Interstate 55 south of Springfield,
Illinois, three weeks later.
Misty Marie Saens, who was 25
when she disappeared from Las Vegas the same month as
Brewer. Partial remains were found in the desert on a
road leading to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation
Area near Las Vegas.
Jessica Edith Foster, who was
21 when she was last seen March 28, 2006, at her home in
North Las Vegas. She remains missing.
Foster's mother, Glendene Grant, shown a picture of
Falls on Friday, told NBC station KSNV of Las Vegas: "He
has the most evil eyes and face."
Police in Chillicothe, Ohio, told NBC station WKYC of
Cleveland that they were also looking into whether Falls
was linked to the deaths of four women and the
disappearances of two others there. All were described
as young and suffering from drug addiction, and some
were believed to have been prostitutes.
Chillicothe police said they hadn't been able to
establish a link yet, but Ross County Chief Sheriff's
Deputy T.J. Hollis told The Chillicothe Gazette that an
investigative team was being sent to Charleston.
"He was a bad actor, and clearly
his intentions were dark," Cooper of the Charleston
police told WKYC.

Family of missing man
pleads for public help
Julie Chadwick Daily News - June 25,
2015 12:00 AM
It was an emotional day for the father and brother of
Jason Burns,
a
42-year-old man who has been missing since May 4. In a
press conference hosted on Wednesday afternoon by the
Nanaimo RCMP, both Sidney Burns, Jason's father, and Dr.
Stephen Burns, Jason's brother, asked the public for
help in the ongoing search for Jason.
Almost two months ago, Jason left his assisted-living
facility on Rosstown Road and has not been seen since.
A two-week search focused on a large wooded area near
his last-known location at the end of May did not turn
up any information or clues, said Nanaimo RCMP spokesman
Gary O'Brien.
A subsequent aerial search by helicopter on June 11 was
also fruitless, he added.
"We need somebody to come forward and further the
investigation," said O'Brien. "We've done the ground
search, we've had our chopper out for an aerial view.
We've done what we can do investigatively."
Jason was known to be solitary and was often isolated,
said his brother Stephen. He was also diagnosed as a
paranoid schizophrenic. He has gone missing for short
periods twice previously.
"Once for one to two days and the other time for three
to four days. The first time he returned of his own
accord and the second time he was just found walking on
the street," said Stephen.
Aside from the length of time he has now been missing,
this disappearance is also unusual in that his brother
did not take any possessions with him.
"First and foremost he didn't take his cigarettes - he
had a carton or more in his room. The only thing he had
with him was his wallet. He had a bank card with him
with access to money in a bank account and that has not
been used," said Stephen. Foul play is not suspected in
Jason's disappearance. Jason is a heavy smoker, is six
foot three and 240 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.
He has limited finances and no friends or acquaintances
in town.
Nanaimo RCMP are urging anyone with information on the
disappearance of Jason Burns to call Const. Jean
Gelderblom of the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
The Nanaimo RCMP are asking for public help in locating
42-year-old Jason Burns, who has last seen May 4 leaving his
assisted-living facility.
Staff there are concerned about his well-being. Burns does not drive
or own a cellphone, has limited financial means and has few friends.
He has had no recent contact with his father, who is his only
relative and lives in Courtenay.
Burns is described as six foot three and 240 pounds, with blond hair
and blue eyes. He is a heavy smoker and may have several bags of
clothes and personal effects.
Anyone who sees Burns is asked to call 911 right away.

Revelstoke RCMP search for missing mushroom picker -
Robert Cline Kinnee

REVELSTOKE — Police believe a 56-year-old Alberta man has been missing
in the Revelstoke area since October 2014. On May 20,
2015, RCMP were notified of an abandoned vehicle on Big
Mouth Creek Road off of Highway 23 North, near Mica
Dam. They discovered a white 1996 Jeep Cherokee and
determined the vehicle had been abandoned since last
fall. The jeep was registered to Robert Cline Kinnee,
whose last known address was in Edmonton. “Kinnee was
known to some as a mushroom picker and tree planter, and
this may have been the reason for his vehicle to be
parked in a fairly remote location,” says Cpl. Thomas
Blakney.
Kinnee checked out of a Revelstoke hotel on October 7,
2014; it’s believed he may have traveled to Calgary to
visit family and then returned to B.C.
He is Caucasian with brown, graying hair and green eyes.
He is six feet tall with a slim build.
If you have information on his whereabouts, please
contact Revelstoke RCMP or Crime Stoppers at
1-800-222-8477.

Family members of a missing Abbotsford, B.C. man,

morning, asking for information related to his unusual
disappearance.
"I know that everyone out
there sees a 51-year-old man," said his sister Rita
Heslop, holding up a picture of Berghall. "I see my
little baby brother and I just want him to be found."
Police are still searching

Ford Explorer he may have been driving.
"Ken is very much an outdoor
person," said Bruce Heslop. "He's a mud racer, he loves
the bush, he's been out lots and lots before."
He had scheduled a visit with his daughter Christina,
from Kamloops, on May 22, but he wasn't there when she

Police have confirmed that
human remains found on a Vancouver Island property on
June 11 have been identified as those of Dana McKellar.

"It's bittersweet," Inspector Keith Lindner of Victoria
police said in a statement Tuesday.
"This is someone's father, someone's son. It's good for
the investigation to locate him, but it is difficult for
his family to have to let go of their hopes that he was
still alive. It's a small consolation for us that were
are able to help bring him home."
Victoria police will continue to investigate the
circumstances of McKellar's death. (Victoria Police
Department)
The remains were found after more than 90 detectives
spent several days combing through a large field and
several homes on the 100-block of Goward Road
in Saanich, B.C.
The 51-year-old was last seen near the 500-block of
Dallas Road last summer, and was reported missing about
three weeks later on Sept. 2, 2014.
Police say McKellar had been assaulted in the weeks
prior to his disappearance, and a search of a property
on the 1200-block of Burnside Road West led them to new
evidence found in large unlabelled barrels
on Goward Road.
The investigation into how Mckellar died continues. |

Maddy Went
Missing 4 Years Ago
Vanderhoof BC
Thu May 28 15:58:00 PDT 2015
-
File # North District Major Crime

The following is the
statement of Ben Scott, on behalf of the Scott family,
regarding the disappearance of his sister, Madison
Scott:
My name is Ben and my sister,
Madison, is a young, vibrant 24 year old woman who went
missing from Hogsback Lake on May 28, 2011. Maddy has
since been missing as a member of our community for 1462
days. On behalf of the family I would like to provide an
update regarding our search and awareness efforts for
Madison Scott.
The police continue to
actively work on Maddys’ file. To date, they have
completed over 1600 'tasks’ in an effort to solve this
mystery, and these tasks are now almost complete.
Accordingly, we must maintain our search and awareness
efforts to generate new leads to justify the police to
continue to allocate the resources to find Maddy. The
Maddy posters, stickers, and signs enable us to maintain
our presence and enhance awareness in the surrounding
area. These signs & banners are important to maintain
the awareness of who Maddy is. The signs are widespread
and observed by so many people, including locals,
commuters through the community, and others.
Saturday May 30, 2015 will be
the 4th All In For Maddy Poker Ride, which is hosted in
the Hogsback & Blackwater area where Maddy went missing.
This is our team’s primary awareness campaign. The event
keeps people thinking and looking for Maddy in the area
that she went missing from with the ultimate goal of
increasing awareness. The previous 3 years have been
extremely successful, as we’ve had close to 400
participants, and we anticipate another successful
turnout this year.
We would like to thank the
community for all of your support and we truly are
forever grateful for all that has been done to assist
our search and awareness efforts. We are extremely
fortunate to have had unconditional support from the
community and we are optimistic that this continued
support will lead to the desired answer. My sister has
been missing for long 4 years, and we need to continue
our search efforts to end this nightmare.
Investigators with the
North District Major Crime Unit continue to actively
investigate Madison (Maddy) Scott's disappearance.

BC RCMP profiles 3
missing teens on National Missing Children’s Day May 25
-
Sicamous, Mission, Prince George BC
2015-05-25 10:37 PDT
-
File # Missing Children's Day
Since her
17-year-old son Jeff disappeared eight years ago in
Mission, Dawn Surtel and her husband can’t help but look
at every tall skinny boy they see, who looks like their
son.
Guy and Annette Richard’s son Matthew, was 16 when he
went missing 15 years ago, hitchhiking near Sicamous,
BC. “I know it doesn't look good after all this time,
but you never completely lose hope. You never know,”
says Guy.
And in Prince George, 14-year-old Lucas Degerness
disappeared eight years ago, after a meeting at his
school with his mother Gina, and the vice-principal.
“Not a day has gone by where I haven’t thought of you,
Luke and asked myself where you might be,” says Gina.
The BC Police Missing Persons Centre is profiling the
three investigations on National Missing Children’s Day,
in the hopes that increased public attention may prompt
new tips. The RCMP does not believe the investigations
are linked, but chose to profile these missing teens
based on input from the lead investigators in each file.
Jeff Surtel, missing from Mission BC
since April 28, 2007
Jeff
Surtel left the family home in Mission BC after being
grounded from the computer for a week, a consequence of
his grades falling on his last report card. He took with
him his distinctive CCM blue mountain bike with yellow
forks.
“I dream about him all the time,” says Dawn Surtel. “He
is always around the age of 12. I think I dream about
him young, because I can’t move forward….I can only look
back.”

At the time of his disappearance his father described
him as a quiet boy, who spent a lot of time at home –
and was interested in programming computers. But his
mother adds that Jeff also loved camping and fishing,
and said for the most part things seemed to come easily
for Jeff, such as baseball and skiing.
She confesses that Jeff’s disappearance has “pretty much
ruined our lives.” After he went missing one of the
first dreams she had of Jeff was him coming to their
bedroom with a big grin on his face, and telling her and
her husband how much he missed them, and that he even
missed his brother Rob.
“We miss you Jeff and love you and we are still waiting
for you to come home…”
Police have followed up on several leads and possible
sightings, but despite this work Jeff remains missing.
Jeff Surtel is Caucasian, and at the time of his
disappearance was 17, 6’1” tall, and weighed 150 pounds
with medium length brown hair, brown eyes, and with
glasses. He was last seen wearing dark coloured jeans, a
navy coloured t-shirt and a blue hooded sweater.
Matthew Richard, last seen
near Sicamous BC, October 30, 1999
Matthew Richard and an
acquaintance had been hitchhiking between Canmore and
Vancouver, and had stopped at the Skyline Truck Stop, 28
km east of Sicamous. Despite the cold snowy, weather,
Matthew reportedly left a truck without his jacket
sometime on the morning of October 30, 1999.
“Not a day goes by that I
don't think of Matthew. Every day on my way to and from
work I cross the Trans Canada Highway, and every time I
look to the West and think of Matthew. Because that's
the direction he went last,” says his father Guy.
“He was so young. He was just a kid; he hadn't even had
a chance to figure out what his goals were. He loved
drawing and art. I always made sure my kids knew I would
support them in whatever goals they set for themselves.
He could have been doing anything by now."
Investigators have conducted extensive ground searches
and dive searches based on tips and leads that have
surfaced. Those who last were in contact with Matthew
have been interviewed, and neighbourhood inquiries
conducted, as well as all tips followed up thoroughly.
Matthew Alan Richard was 16 when he disappeared, 6’1”
and 175 pounds. He had blonde hair and blue eyes, and
also had a chipped and darkened front tooth. A photo of
Matthew, aged 16, is attached.

File # 1999-1852 Sicamous RCMP
In the fall of 1999, 16 year
old Matthew Alan RICHARD was
hitchhiking on Highway 1 (the Trans-Canada Highway) with
a friend when he went missing. The pair was on their way
back to Canmore, Alta when they stopped at the Skyline
Esso Truck Stop (mid way between Revelstoke and Sicamous
BC). For some unknown reason, Matthew wandered off from
that location without his friend’s knowledge and hasn’t
been seen since.
An extensive search of the
area was conducted but Matthew was never located.
An extensive investigation
has been conducted and officers have not been able to
say at this time whether or not foul play was involved
in Matthew’s disappearance.
At the time of his
disappearance, Matthew was 6’1” tall, weighed 175
pounds, short blonde hair and blue eyes.
Distinguishing mark: Matthew had a chipped and
darkened front tooth.

Lucas Degerness, last seen June 7, 2007
in Prince George
Lucas
and his mother Gina met with his vice-principal the
morning of June 7, following concerns about his
performance in school. After the meeting Lucas was asked
to return to class, but never did. That meeting was the
last time his mother saw him.

Lucas spent the night of June 7 with a friend, but has
not been seen since. Following his disappearance RCMP
investigated many possible sightings in the Prince
George area, and searched the Hudson Bay Slough in 2010
as a result of information received. Then in 2014
Missingkids.ca received a call from a male identifying
himself as Lucas, resulting in significant concern for
his safety and well-being. Unfortunately there was no
further information to assist in locating him.
“Although you’re a young man now, I still wonder if
you’re safe or if you need help, if maybe you need your
mom,” says Gina. “I don’t want to have to ask myself
these questions every day for the rest of my life….
“It doesn’t matter what’s happened in the past so please
call me, or someone who can share the message with me
that you’re safe. If anyone sees this and has even the
smallest piece of information as to where my son might
be or what may have happened to him, please do the right
thing.”
She says that she doesn’t want Lucas’s younger sister to
spend any further time without her big brother
in her life, and that his older brother and sister now
have children they want Lucas to meet.
At the time he went missing Lucas was 5’8” tall, 140
pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. A photo of Lucas
at age 14, and a drawing age enhanced to 19 years, is
attached
“Despite the passing of
time these cases remain a priority for police. We owe it
to the families to review these cases – and all missing
persons files - regularly. The RCMP is constantly
looking for additional sources of information, or
determining if advances in technology may assist
investigators in any way,” says Corporal Kelly Risling,
acting head of the BC Police Missing Persons Centre.
Please contact the Prince George, Sicamous or Mission
RCMP detachments directly if you have any information
about these missing boys, or if you want to remain
anonymous contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477

Crystal Dunahee looked back on that day: “Giving my

should have made him wait. That’s the hardest part to

CASE # 15102498/4765 -
Calgary Police Service
CALGARY – Calgary Police are
looking for missing woman Jessica Rae Newman, who was
last seen in the Forest Lawn area Tuesday night around
9:30 p.m. The 24-year old is a
waitress at the Watergrill on 17th avenue in Forest
Lawn. Newman is described as
Caucasian, 5’3” tall, 100 lbs. with mid-length blonde
hair and blue eyes. She has a tattoo the length of her
spine and was last seen wearing a black and white mid
-length sleeveless dress and black leather jacket with
studs on the shoulder pads.
Jessica’s mother Rhonda Stewart said she last spoke to
her daughter a week and a half ago from her home in B.C.
“She was in good spirits. I always know
when something is wrong because she always phones me
lots when something is wrong. She’ll phone me three
times a day when something is wrong and everyday,”
Rhonda Stewart said. Her family
and friends are worried because Jessica didn’t show up
to pick up her two year old son as she normally does.
“She came home every night, she showed
up at work all the time and she never missed any
visitations with her son. So wherever she is, I don’t
think she didn’t ran away, there’s something stopping
her from being where she needs to be,” Stewart said.
The police have had limited information to share with
the family, saying they are just in the beginning stages
of the investigation. “She is
very trusting. Which makes me nervous because she will
trust anybody and she always thinks the best of
everybody even though they may not be trustworthy,”
Stewart said. “She hasn’t been home and she hadn’t
showed up at work which again is not like her. she
didn’t called to say she wasn’t coming in nothing she
just didn’t show up. and she also didn’t show up to pick
her son up on Wednesday for her visitations with him.”
Newman’s roommate Mike Hahn has known her for about a
year and dropped her off at work on Tuesday. He’s been
in touch with police and Jessica’s family.
“She was in good spirits, she was going to do the night
shift and she usually works days so she switched to the
night shift so she could have Wednesday off to go to
court for the custody hearing,” Hahn said.
“Very uncharacteristic. She loves her son dearly. The
court date was the next morning, she was definitely
going to go to that because she wanted to make sure to
have the custody hearing to get 50-50, that’s what they
were talking about. Never has she missed a date to have
her visitations with her son either. So at that point,
when she didn’t show up that’s when I got really
concerned,” Hahn said.
“We are very very concerned and very worried.”

“Lucas, Please Call Us” Pleads Grandfather
By
Elaine Macdonald - Thursday, January
29, 2015 @ 8:38 PM

Prince George, B.C. -There are glowing candles, and
while friends and family gather to mark a birthday, this
is no party. It is a vigil to mark the 22nd birthday of
Lucas Degerness, who has been missing since June of
2007. They have a birthday wish of their own, that Lucas
will be found.Lucas
was just 14 when he left a meeting at his
school in Prince George where he and his mother
had spoken with the vice-principal. The teen
left and spent the night at the home of a friend,
then disappeared.
His grandfather, Lynn Parry remains optimistic that his
grandson is out there, somewhere “I think he just
moved on with his life and doesn’t want to have anything
to do with us” said Parry as tears threatened to
spill from his eyes.
When Lucas disappeared, Parry says the family
plastered the area of Prince George where Lucas
was known to frequent and where friends suggested he
might have gone with flyers. “We would put up the
flyers, and the next day they would be torn down, then
someone said they spotted him in the BCR (
industrial area on the east side of Prince
George). We looked and looked, but couldn’t find
him.”
There would be other searches, but none turned up
any trace of the missing teen.

Last year, a male,
claiming to be Lucas, contacted the Canadian Centre for
Child Protection’s MissingKids.ca program in Winnipeg.
All efforts to track down the caller failed says Lucas’
mother Gina Degerness “We don’t know if it was someone
playing a cruel prank, or someone who
thought I needed to have hope”. She
now lives in Edmonton and wasn’t able to make it
to what has become a painful annual event
on the steps of the Prince George Courthouse but here
heart is with those who gathered this
evening “I haven’t lost hope.”
But for tonight, the only positive news is that
the weather held up for the vigil “Last year it
was 20 below, and the year before that was just
unbearable” says Lynn Parry, but not nearly as
unbearable as not knowing what has become Lucas.
“Lucas, please call
us” is the message
Lynn Parry sends to his grandson.
The disappearance of Lucas Degerness remains a missing
person’s case with the RCMP. Anyone who may
have any information on his disappearance is asked to
contact the RCMP or CrimeStoppers

My Prayers are with Roxanne's Family

PENTICTON – RCMP confirmed Monday afternoon that two
people have been charged in connection with the death of
a missing Penticton woman.
26-year-old Roxanne Louie was last seen on the morning
of Sunday Jan. 4. She was a member of the Osoyoos Indian
band. The mother of a three and a half year old boy was
living in Vancouver but was in the Okanagan visiting.
Her cousin says she was staying at her mother-in-law’s
place just before her disappearance. Earlier reports
suggested Louie told her mother-in-law that she was
stepping out for the night and would meet her family at
the airport for her flight back to Vancouver the next
day. Louie never showed up.
RCMP say the mother-in-law, Grace Elinor Robotti, has
now been charged with second-degree murder. A second
person, Pier Louis Robotti, has been charged with
interference with a dead body and accessory after the
Fact.
